We live in a society now where money is everything. Heck, I think we all would agree that having a large money growing tree in the backyard would be quite ideal. Hey, I bet people would be more amped on planting trees!

I hate to do it, but let's be realistic. Money does not grow on trees, at least not for me. So what are some different ways that we get money? We work, we sell things, we invest, and so on. That all sounds great, but there may come a time in one's life where money is scarce. You may be unemployed, not have any assets to sell, or have your money invested in anything. So what does one do?

Consider this. Why don't we get rid of all currency and barter for things? Just think of all the different types of services that people could offer. I feel as though people in our society would have closer relationships with one another. It would force us to communicate on more of a personal level. It would also allow us to put ourselves out there and really figure out our self-worth. You would really discover what you are good at and stick with it. Creativity juices would be flowing as people would be coming up with different ways to offer their services in exchange for someone else's. I feel it would also give more value to the things we both want and need. I bet our "want" list would get cut down pretty quickly if we knew how much labor and resources it would require to get.

Maybe then you wouldn't hear about how all these huge companies have to file for debt settlement and bankruptcy because they are so far in the hole that they can't dig themselves out. We wouldn't have to trust other people with our money, therefore the only person we could blame for not having certain things is ourselves. It won't be, "the bank lost my money, my account was hacked into", and so on.

Really, just imagine the possibilities with this. I bet the homeless rate and the poverty rate would decrease as well. Hey, at this point, it's worth giving it a shot, right?
